2008 - The Royal Britannia goes up for Sale.
2009 - Renovation work starts.
The 300-year-old pub's history included visits from Admiral Lord Nelson, Prince Edward who went on to become Edward VII and numerous other dignitaries have stayed at this venue.
Mr Wheeler said: "My great-great-grandfather, Sir Hugh Wheeler knew Nelson, so we are hoping to put up his coat of arms on the Royal Britannia".
2010 - Major renovation and refurbishment including putting en-suites in all the rooms throughout the whole of The Royal Britannia and re-building the centre of the building by owner Richard Wheeler.
